‘I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live. On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me; and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them.’
Reflection by Janet Derby
No one can deny that this lock-down has been difficult, much more for some than for others. I know there are many who are feeling terribly alone. It is difficult at times to find anything positive or just a glimmer of good news. Still, there are times when we can feel God’s presence. I just finished putting together the video for the children’s time you will see in today’s worship. As I watched the video I knew that the spirit was in the process. I had simply sent some suggestions to parents for what to have their children submit and Anne knew what those were but did not know what we would receive. The various parts came together in a way that I could never have planned. God’s spirit continues to move in and through us even as we struggle with the world as it is today.
Spirit of God,
Thank you for your constant presence with us. While we may not always be aware of you, we trust that you have not left us orphaned and that you continue to be in us. Amen.
