‘Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me, and whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.’
The seventy returned with joy, saying, ‘Lord, in your name even the demons submit to us!’ He said to them, ‘I watched Satan fall from heaven like a flash of lightning. See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing will hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.’

We are called to be Christ’s ambassadors in the world. How else can someone know of God’s love and Christ’s redemption, except through our actions as followers of Christ? And Pilgrimage UCC has a special place in that mission. We strive to be the Embassy, if you will, of all that is true and right and good in the Christian way of life.
It is not an easy job in our world to be Christ to others. So many have called themselves Christian, only to shun, bully, enslave, murder in God’s name. We certainly don’t want to be considered one of “those” types of Christians. So how do we set ourselves apart? How can others know that we really do follow Christ? That we really do represent God’s love and Christ’s redemption?
Only with God’s help can we be Christ’s ambassadors. Only by being open to God’s love can we share the Good News.
“And they’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love. Yes, they’ll know we are Christians by our love.”
