1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Devotion By Laurie Spencer About two months ago I was going through a really rough time. One Saturday, I had just finished my last lap at the Roswell Aquatic Center and I stopped, held onto the side of the pool, and started crying. I guess a good swim workout brought on a release of emotions. The woman in the next lane noticed my tears and asked me if I wouldn’t mind if she prayed for me. Well she prayed and prayed and prayed. And as she did, I slowly calmed down and was able to receive her lovely prayers. Since that time I have seen this swim angel several times at the pool. We have exchanged phone numbers. We have texted a few times. The other day, I mentioned how frightened I was about the political situation. Today, she texted me these words: “Psalm 46: 1-3” I can only assume that I’m not the only one in our church who is feeling afraid right now. So I’m passing the psalm verses on to you.
