Psalm 121:1-8

I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there?

My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!

He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.

Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps.

The Lord himself watches over you!

The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.

The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night.

The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life.

The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.

Devotion by Chris Shiver

This is one of the short Psalms I took the time to memorize some years ago because it is both powerful and is also beautiful verse. In times of both peace and distress it is greatly comforting to me to know that God has always been there, is with me now, and will always be present. There certainly have been times where I was anxious about the circumstances of myself or those around me, and what enabled me to go forward even into uncertainty was knowing that God was walking with me.

My Prayer:

Jesus, I pray that you will always be there, even when my faith in your presence is weak. Amen.
