Who Shall Abide in God’s Sanctuary?
A Psalm of David. O Lord, who may abide in your tent? Who may dwell on your holy hill?
Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right, and speak the truth from their heart; who do not slander with their tongue, and do no evil to their friends, nor take up a reproach against their neighbors;

While those are admirable goals to strive for, they also sound impossible to fully achieve! I have to remind myself that this comes from the Old Testament God, not the God of the New Testament, the new covenant, that we have come to know. Maybe the difference is that instead of living in fear of failing to live up to God’s standard, I know I can’t possibly be all that God wants me to be. But now I know that I am a beloved child of God; I have received God’s amazing grace. I will fall. I will fail to be the Christian God has asked me to be. But when I do fall, God is always there to pick me up, dust me off, and set me on the right path.
Thank you for setting a standard of how I should live my life. And thank you for your grace that picks me back up when I fall short of that standard. Amen.
