1 Corinthians 10:13
13No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.
Reflection by Lynne Buell
I didn’t know why I’ve been so emotional this year. But I’m beginning to realize that it is far worse than physical pain. Physical pain can be located and treated for the most part. Eventually, the pain goes away. But emotional pain is much more complex because often we don’t know why we feel discouraged and depressed. I hadn’t intended to go to last night’s Blue Christmas service at Pilgrimage last night. But I found myself in my car fighting rush hour traffic at 6:30 p.m. God knows everything about you, including how to heal you. While I am still puzzled by my frailty, I feel that the release of emotions I experienced last night has confirmed that God is providing comfort and strength for me so I can move on.
“The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer,
My God, my rock in whom I take refuge,
My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalm 18:2
