Devotion - December 3, 2020
Isaiah 40:8-11
The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.”
O Zion, messenger of good news, shout from the mountaintops!
Shout it louder, O Jerusalem. Shout, and do not be afraid.
Tell the towns of Judah, “Your God is coming!”
Yes, the Sovereign Lord is coming in power. He will rule with a powerful arm.
See, he brings his reward with him as he comes.
He will feed his flock like a shepherd.
He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart.
He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.
Devotion by Chris Shiver
When I am weak, I need only remember that our God has all power at his disposal and that in standing with God I ultimately can’t lose.
When I am broken hearted, I need only remember that no one is more gentle, loving or comforting than our God who knows what mourning and despair are all about.
My Prayer:
Jesus, I pray that when I feel overwhelmed that you will nudge me and remind me that you are at my side, and will provide what I most need at that moment. I pray also that you will use me to help others find that same comfort when they are in need. Amen.
