I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my whole being shall exult in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the earth brings forth its shoots, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations.

This scripture speaks of the excitement of believing. Isaiah rejoices because God is so benevolent and loving.
Whether we believe or not, God is there for us. Can we see Him if we aren't looking for our creator? Can we see Her works if we aren't looking for them? I think not. When we don't know God, we can't see God. The joy of knowing God is that we look for God and find God. That's the excitement of believing.
I was raised Buddhist and taught to see the beauty in everything and everyone. I was taught contentment and the wonder of stillness and silence. It was a faith of peace.
As a kid, I really didn't know Christmas was about the birth of the Christ child. When I learned that Jesus was born on Christmas, the day of Santa and gifts, I thought, what a coincidence! Now I know God sent Jesus into the world as a sign of love. That's the excitement of believing!
Dear Jesus, Happy birthday! And may everyone have a blessed and holiday season!
