John 20:26-29

A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were shut, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you.’ Then he said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe.’ Thomas answered him, ‘My Lord and my God!’ Jesus said to him, ‘Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.’

Reflection by Duke Yaguchi

I used to have my doubts about God. Even after being revealed, I forget, and have doubts again. Then Jesus would wrap His arms around me in a time of need. I would believe, forget and have doubts again. I would think, surely, Thomas believes now! Yet, my own faith rises and falls like the ocean tides. Why is my faith so fickle and not steadfast?

Jesus, you've wrapped your arms around me with unbounded love when I was at one of my lowest times of my life. Help me to remember You are with me. In your name, I pray. Amen.
