2 Chronicles 7:15-16

15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer offered in this place. 16 For now I have chosen and sanctified and set apart for My purpose this house that My Name may be here forever, and My eyes and My heart will be here perpetually.

Devotion by Laurie Spencer

2 Chronicles was penned in the last three or four hundred years before Christ was born.

The Lord shepherded the faithful then. The Lord hears our prayers now. And perpetually into the future, our offerings of praise and requests for mercy will be heard.

This gives me such confidence as I navigate life’s struggles. And a great hope for the future. It’s nice to know that across the vast timeline of history and beyond to the future, prayers have been and always will be lifted up. Prayer links us to our ancestors as well as those who will come after us.
