John 4:7, 13-15
7 A Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, ‘Give me a drink’.
13Jesus said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, 14but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.’ 15The woman said to him, ‘Sir, give me this water, so that I may never be thirsty or have to keep coming here to draw water.’

It’s a fact that just like we need water to live, we also need money. It doesn’t matter if this statement pertains to our personal lives or if it’s regarding the corporate world, money is needed to provide what we need to live and provide for others.
Have you ever wondered how much it costs to enjoy the many blessings we have at Pilgrimage UCC? As your Administrative Assistant, I have a pretty good idea. Yes, we can talk about that, but we should talk more about this wonderful space where we get to see and worship with our loving church family every week. So, I’m pretty sure I don’t speak for myself when I say we give our money lovingly and as an act of gratitude to Pilgrimage as one way to thankfully respond to God’s love for us. In so many ways, generous giving is an extension of our own desire to show God how much we give thanks for our community; and then we spread our love beyond Pilgrimage’s walls.
My faith journey began ten years ago this summer (August, to be exact). Like the woman at the well, I took a ‘drink of water’ and realized that I will never be thirsty again.
Amazing God, Holy Spirit and Jesus, I am grateful, stronger, and comforted by your love and support. Amen.
