Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation. Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them. Full of honour and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures for ever. He has gained renown by his wonderful deeds; the Lord is gracious and merciful. He provides food for those who fear him; he is ever mindful of his covenant. He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the heritage of the nations.

God does not need reminding!
How many times has it happened to you? You got up to get ‘something’. You walk towards the room where the ‘something’ is located and along the way, you notice ‘something’ else. You give that some attention and then it happens, you move on to the next thing finally arriving in the room and before you know it: You have forgotten what you came for! It happens to all of us, on varying scales (and if not you, oh just keep living). It is so frustrating and upsetting. What does it all mean when we cannot remember things, big or small? That we have too much going on, we are forgetful, or maybe just a little scatterbrain?
Fortunately, we worship a God who is so loving and faithful, and who never forgets! God “who has the whole world in His hands” can go across this whole earth, healing, delivering, protecting and providing all the while keeping his covenant that was made with mankind through David. The promise God made is simply that when we are in distress, God is ours and we are God’s. When we are in need, God is so gracious and will provide us what is needed. In short, God promises to be with us and will not forget about us! God can take care of you, me and the family in Canada, the children in Myanmar and the leaders in Mumbai and not forget about any of us! That is the good news!
Gracious and Loving God, I want to thank you for not forgetting about me. There are days that I know I have overlooked you, I did not thank you or did not speak your name, but you looked beyond my faults and saw that I was in need. Forgive me for my omission. I am so grateful that you met those needs then and I know you will do so again. I thank you for providing for me and loving me. Thank You God, for remembering me. Amen.
