Finding your spiritual path involves wrestling with the hard questions of faith. Pilgrimage isn’t a place that gives people pat answers for spiritual questions. We do create spaces where people can safely wrestle with the questions that can lead them to deeper faith. Here are a few of those spaces:
Worship. Worship services at Pilgrimage are lively, thoughtful, and include times for private reflection.
Adult Sunday School. We usually have at least two adult Sunday School classes going at any given time.
The So What? Sunday School class meets immediately following the 10:00 worship service. Attendees debrief the worship service and sermon with the Pastor then make connections between worship and their “real lives.”
The second adult Sunday School class generally stays with one topic for 6-8 weeks. Past classes: Living the Questions; Praying the Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic; Marcus Borg’s The Heart of Christianity.
Book Groups. Pilgrimage currently has two book groups meeting. Discussions always are lively and give participants the opportunity to share more deeply with others.
Bible Studies: Weekly Bible Studies are written by the Pastor and published weekly on the website. The Bible Studies take participants through a study of the next week’s focal passage for worship step-by-step. (NOTE: The Bible Studies also can be done individually.)
Online Daily Devotions. Daily devotions on the biblical texts used in worship written by the Pastor are available online.
Occasional Groups. As interests in various topics arise, groups form around those topics.
Missions Opportunities. Because we learn not only by sitting and talking, but also by doing, Pilgrimage provides many opportunities to live our faith out in the larger community.
