Pilgrimage Praise
Band. A vocal-instrumental group
specializing in “praise and worship music” and contemporary
Christian music. Membership is open to all who are
interested. Rehearsal times are arranged around the
schedules of the members. This group will perform occasionally in the
11:00 worship service and in some special services.
Pilgrimage GlobalSong.
A small vocal-instrumental ensemble specializing in music
of the Taizé and Iona communities, as well as other global
communities. Guitar, woodwind, string, and percussion
players are especially welcome, but membership is open to anyone interested in learning about music of other
cultures.
Pilgrimage Bluegrass
Band. For persons interested in
traditional bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, and some newgrass
music. The band will play at fellowship and social functions of the
church. They will also play at the annual Sunday morning Gospel
Sing every August. Additionally, they may play in occasional worship
services when a particular song might fit the theme of the
service. They will also form the core of a regular Bluegrass jam
session hosted by the church and open to the community.
Rehearsals will be arranged around the schedules of participants. Contact
the Director of Music if interested in participating,
especially if you play guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, dobro, upright string bass.
Bluegrass Jam
Sessions. A quarterly or monthly jam session,
depending on participant interest, open to the
community. Anyone interested may bring their instruments
and their favorite songs. Beginners are welcome. This is
primarily a social opportunity.
Pilgrimage Shape Note
Singers. A group that will meet
monthly or quarterly, depending on interest, to sing old
time songs from The Sacred Harp and Southern
Harmony and other shape note song books. This is
predominantly a social and special interest group but may
occasionally sing in worship.
